Monica Nunes
I am passionate about social justice and the necessity of youth & young adult engagement in driving positive change. I also believe in the arts as transformational. Before joining the Mobilizing Minds team, I worked on several food security initiatives and a helped create a program that trained youth that were new to Canada as health system navigators. I am also the project coordinator for Mobilizing Minds: Pathways to Young Adult Mental Health.
What do you like about being involved with Mobilizing Minds?
I love working with individuals who think just as strongly as I do that young adults have a role in promoting mental health. I also really like that I am able to work with a team that has a diversity of experiences and is so knowledgeable about mental health. Because of this, I learn something new every day!
What do you hope to achieve with Mobilizing Minds
Through the development and dissemination of resources that support young adults in making decisions around their mental health, I hope that we can have an impact in helping young adults live the lives they want to. Through this process, I also hope we can build really strong partnerships between individuals and organizations tasked with similar goals so that we can strengthen one another’s work for the ultimate betterment of young adult mental health going forward.
