Project Overview

Welcome to Mobilizing Minds: Pathways to Young Adult Mental Health, a multi-year, multi-province knowledge mobilization research project that focuses on young adult mental health. Our team includes young adults, researchers, health professionals, youth engagement experts and community partners. We define knowledge mobilization as getting the right information to the right people (i.e. young adults) at the right time and in the right ways to help people make informed decisions.

Currently, there is a gap in knowledge for young adult mental health. Anxiety and depression are the most common mental health problems in young adults (18-25 yrs old) today. 25% of young adults experience a mental health problem over this period of development and less than half seek help. Young adults who struggle with mental health concerns like depression, anxiety and stress are faced with complex decisions about options for care, yet, often lack the information they need to pursue the kind of help that they prefer. Therefore, Mobilizing Minds aims to develop, pilot test and share resources with young adults (and those who support them) to help them in making decisions about their mental health.
