RESEARCH OBJECTIVES
Young adults who experience stress, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues (as well as those who support them) are routinely faced with complex decisions regarding care in the absence of critical information and helpful decision-making aids.
This project has five major objectives:
- To create effective and sustainable partnerships between young adults (aged 18 to 25), the Community Resource Base (i.e., the allies of young adults such as families, friends, and teachers; community organizations interested in mental health; and service providers) and the project team for successful mental health knowledge translation;
- To use consumer preference modeling methods to identify the information preferences of young adults and their allies;
- To retrieve, synthesize, and format preferred information for use in knowledge translation activities;
- To evaluate the impact of the materials on young adults in a "real-world" setting, and
- To disseminate consumer-focused mental health information and knowledge translation processes on a wide scale in Canada, by enlisting the support and expertise of our partner organizations
